Helping Patients Experience Sound Like Never Before
Hearing aids were once bulky devices that could help you hear but only worked in specific settings and could be an eye-sore.
Today, hearing aids have evolved to help those with hearing loss improve their hearing abilities in all types of sound scenarios and come in sleek shapes and styles that blend into the ear’s natural shape. At The Barranco Clinic, our audiologists are trained in helping patients select the right hearing aid. Our styles offer benefits that include directional microphones, rechargeable batteries, and wireless connectivity, allowing you to experience improved hearing in any setting.
Patients experiencing hearing loss often turn to hearing aids as a solution. These small devices are worn in or around the ear to amplify sound. While there are different types of hearing aids, they each work using the same technology. Hearing aids are battery-powered, and some include rechargeable batteries. Each hearing aid contains one or more microphones that pick up sound and then process and amplify it. The speaker in the device then sends a signal to your ear.

The majority of your daily interactions are with a single person, rather than large groups with heavy background noise. You enjoy quiet conversations, infrequent shopping, watching TV, seeing movies, and talking on the phone.
Essential Tiered hearing aids:
You are occasionally in environments with heavier background noise such as seeing friends or working in an office. You participate in meetings, small group conversations, intimate restaurant settings, and listen to lectures/sermons from a distance.
Standard Tiered hearing aids:
You have an active lifestyle that places you in a variety of environments throughout the day. This could include attending large group gatherings regularly, frequently eating out at restaurants, and attending meetings and celebrations.
Advanced Tiered hearing aids:
You lead a dynamic lifestyle with frequent trips and travel, a busy social life, and have a work environment that requires many meetings or conferences. You may also frequent sporting events and concerts along with other listening environments with higher levels of background noise.
Premium tiered hearing aids:
Hearing aids are categorized by their location on the ear. The primary styles are In the Ear (ITE) or Behind the Ear (BTE). Some hearing aids are designed to blend into the ear and use flesh tones, while others may be more colorful or stylish. The type of hearing aid that works best for you will depend on your hearing loss and what style you find most comfortable. Most patients typically have several options.
Both the RITE and RIC (receiver in the canal) hearing aids have a small speaker and processor found behind the ear. These are the more prominent styles of hearing aids and are more visible than other choices. Because of their size, they can include more features that allow customization and benefit those with more profound hearing loss.
BTE hearing aids have come a long way. While they are visible and sit behind the ear, their shape has become sleeker, with new styles that are small and discrete. They often include a small piece that sits inside the ear canal.
ITE hearing aids are most often used for patients experiencing moderate to mild hearing loss. The hearing aid can invisibly sit inside the ear canal or be located in the bowl of the ear. They often vary in size and color but include benefits such as directional microphones and manual control options.
CIC hearing aids can be used for different levels of hearing loss. They are used inside the ear canal and cannot be seen by most. These hearing aids are flesh-toned and well-suited to those looking for the most discreet option.
Sounds help connect you to the world, and when hearing them is challenging, it can impact multiple aspects of your life. Some of the benefits of hearing aids include:
Using Bluetooth technology, you can stream music, TV shows, movies, podcasts, and phone calls directly to your hearing aids.
On the Go Charging
Many of our hearing aids offer rechargeable batteries that allow you to charge from almost anywhere. The batteries can be recharged in just a few hours, which saves you time and money on replacements.
Multi-Directional Microphone Hearing
Rather than just one microphone amplifying the noise around you, modern hearing aids use multi-directional microphones to create a more natural listening experience. Using sensors the hearing aids can detect speech or noise within the environment and adjust accordingly.
Hearing aids today are designed to seamlessly form to the shape of your ear and appear as discreet as possible. On top of being discreet, they are comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time.
